We can actually use big bags as alternatives and use laptop sleeves to protect the laptop. I do that often specially when I have to match a dress. And if I’m given the luxury to spend thousands of dollars to a few purchases, those 3 bags are probably on top of my shopping list. This is one of my favorite – simple yet stylish. The glossy retro look rocks my daily outfit! It looks like just one of my college bags (I miss college days). One of my favorite feature is that each sides of the tote has it’s own zipper so it’s easier to pull anything out. The handles are good for over-the-shoulder or hand-in carrying and it is available in my favorite colors – red and pink!

It fits laptop with 15″4 size and most 17″ screen size as long as the sleeve is not included. So it’s good for everything.

Do you like leather bags? I really am not into leathers, they look so professional and boring but when I saw the Nunzia Design Tuscany Laptop Bag from Rainebrooke, I thought it’s chic. The colored accent details is just right. I think this one fits my personality at work. Back in the days, laptop bags are all black and gray with all those pockets and functionality. Too many of them scream, “Laptop inside!” I still remember when I got my first laptop and I was searching in the mall for the perfect bag for me. All the sales people got me the bulky, neutral colors bag. I found one bright red backpack which just suit my 14 inch laptop – it’s the only one. Not perfect but right to my taste. Today, searching for chic and functional laptop bags has become easier than ever.

Laptop bag essentials

Looking for the perfect laptop bags needs both function and style that suits your personality. The latter is something that you will only know and we will tackle in the coming days. Fucntion should always be the first priority in selecting your first or next laptop bag. There are only 4 things that we need to consider before buying any bag:

1. Padding
2. Material
3. Weight
4. Pockets

Foam, cushion or padding is the first thing that everyone should be looking for. It’s our protection against possible damages from bumps, jostles, and environmental nasties. Find a bag that has a thicker padding for

The materials must be strong enough to carry the weight of the  laptop and other extra things that we also bring. It must be durable enough to withstand the wear and tear our daily travel brings. Water resistance is also an important factor. Although we can use an extra sleeve for making it water resistance, but an additional feature for that is more convenient.

Another factor to consider is the weight. My laptop alone already weighs 2.5 kilograms and that doesn’t include the cable, books and extra girly stuff. Don’t choose a bag that will add more weight to what is already too much our shoulders can handle.

Some may disagree with me but it is an essential factor to consider the extra pockets. I’d like my stuff to be as organize as possible so it’s easy to find and pull out things. Cables are notorious space-wasters, so look into buying a separate carrying case for them or look for a bag that already has one. However, too much of everything is not good. Be careful of bags with too many pockets, it might entice us to carry more stuff that we only need.
